This is a heart touching moment. Geeta, a daughter of India, who got lost and reached Pakistan, comes back to India, and hugs the prime minister of India like her own father. Her smiling face tells you how happy she must be, coming back to her motherland after 15 years. This is a moment to cherish.
Media is terming this exchange a turning-point in Indio-Pak relationship. Don't know how they reach such conclusions? Kashmir is still there, Pakistan is making portable nuclear warheads especially to attack India, unprovoked cross-border firing still takes place form their side. Pakistan still continues to internationalize Kashmir issue, Hafeez Syed still breathes freely in Pak, cross-border terrorism is still sponsored by Pakistan.
But media can dream, and facebook-youth can take selfies ...
Though what must be these India haters be thinking at this moment, when they see this heart-warming image of Geeta hugging India's Prime Minister? To emphasize, this prime minister is not a one like a docile Manmohan Singh, but a one who has revolutionised India's foreign policy and has made things extremely difficult for the "thousand cuts" promoters.
This hypothesis may dampen many spirits, but this is exactly what is happening across the border, in some shady collection of Pak army veterens and terrorist intermedieries. Media may be going gung-ho over the imaginary "peace" - but Geeta, a girl who's a mute, supported by a Pak NGO, whose parentage is still not clear, could have been an agent, carrying a needle of a poison like ricin, which doesn't appear in autopsy.
Amid all the celebrations which will die down once all the TRP has been milked - I'd call this event a security lapse for Narendra Modi, who is probably on the hit list on all terror groups right now.
Something to think about.
